SCHOOL BAGPIPER BAND PLAYS AT NAGAR KIRTAN
This year the 54th Nagar Kirtan was organized by the Gurudwara Singh Sabha, Mussoorie on 24th September. The school choir took part in the Shabad Kirtan. The melodious Shabads were highly appreciated by the Guru Ki Sangat. The performance of the School Band program along with the procession commenced at 2 pm in the afternoon at Landour and concluded at Library Chowk at 8 pm. The Band Commander from Shangri-la was Shipra Kaur and the Commander of the boy band was Master Deepak Nagar. The formation made during the performance of the band was a synchronized art of display enjoyed by the people and visitors of Mussoorie. A group of some people also displayed the martial art “The Gatka”. Gatka is a martial art originally performed by Sikh soldiers to protect the weaker. This glimpse of Sikh heritage was enjoyed by the people of Mussoorie.
Both Girls’ and Boys’ bands were appreciated for their commendable performance by Mr. MTS Khurana, president of Gurudwara Singh Sabha, and Mr. Narinder Singh Sawhney, Secretary of Gurudwara Singh Sabha. Many other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
