Centonians Pay Rich Tributes To Our Former Chairman Late S. Jaspal Singh

The children and staff of Guru Nanak Fifth Centenary School Vincent Hill & Shangri-la paid rich tributes and homage to former Chairman Late S. Jaspal Singh Ji on 7th May, 2018.

To commemorate his first death anniversary all the students and members of the teaching faculty assembled in the school Gurudwara.

In Vincent Hill the prayer service commenced with the recitation of Jap Ji Sahib followed by Shabad Kirtan. The Speakers addressed the sangat, and threw light on the life of former Chairman. Speaking on the occasion the Principal Mr. A. K. Tiwari, shared the vision and contributions of a former chairman and the bold initiatives he took in making GNFCS a millinium school – school of the 21st century.

The Head master S. Harbans Singh remembering him shared how S. Jaspal Singh ji had carried forward the legacy of his parents S. Mehtab Singh ji and Sardarni Jasbir Kaur forward with great zeal and endeavour. During his tenure the school touched new heights of glory. It was ranked India’s 7th best Girls boarding school and the Boys school featuring in the first 10 schools.

Mrs. Varinder Kaur recalled former Chairman saying that, “Always propagate love and kindness.”

In Shangri-la campus each and every student & staff member present in the Gurdwara sahib was so mesmerized by the recital of sukhmani sahib and the rendition of Jaap Sahib, that they could not stop themselves from taking part in the recitation with full zeast and enthusiasm as Guru Himself was motivating them.

The Dean Mrs. ND Sawhney remembered late S. Jaspal Singh ji for his progressive thoughts, positive approach to life and always a helping hand to everyone.

A fatherly figure to all in school the children expressed their gratitude and how deeply they missed him. Speaking about him they pledged to be good human beings. He often mentioned, “be thankful to the Almighty for all the blessings and also for the food we share.   “Tu Datta Dattar Tera Ditta Khawana”

Finally Ardaas was offered for the departed soul.
