Ex-Students Reunion In Thailand

It was 3rd July 2018, we left early in the morning to catch our flight to Bangkok. We were going there to be the part of an excellent event in which maximum ex-centonians were expected to participate. It was Reunion of the ex-students of Guru Nanak Fifth Centenary School, Mussoorie. Although it was quite a tiring journey 6 to 7 hrs by road and approximately 5hrs by flight to reach Swarnabhoomi Airport, Bangkok. But it was the warm welcome of the ex-students which made us feel full of energy. Our stay & the event were arranged in the Radisson Blu Plaza, Bangkok. After spending some time in our rooms we went down for breakfast. Later on we came down to see the arrangement at the venue, however everything was perfectly organized by the team of some ex-students who left no stone unturned to make this event a success. I would like to mention the name of Kawaljeet Gandhi, Niravesh Srikalra, Jagjeet, Narawadi Chawla, Jasreen Kaur and Veena Muchal . Finally the time comes when with the standing ovation ex-centonians welcomed Ma’am N.D. Sawhney, Mr. A.K. Tewari , Members from the Management Mr. & Mrs. M.P. Singh accompanied by Mr. & Mrs. Sabharwal. Presence and blessings of some old teachers like Mr. Duggal, Mr. Pyara Singh Ji and First Principal Mr. J.D. Singh, although Mr. J.D. Singh was not present there but a small video message by him was enough to make it more special for all of them. It was really a moment which was unforgettable for every single person present in the hall they were all remembering their school days sitting beside their old classmates, their friends and their batch mates and sharing their experiences and sweet memories of the school days. Conduction of the program and the opening speech was given by Mr. Kawaljeet Gandhi who extended a warm welcome to the guests and program was begun with the March Past with the house and school flags by the ex-post holder students and opening Shabad by the present Thai Students of the School followed by the 2 minutes silence and remembrance of late members of GNFC staff. Fusion dance by present students and Antakshari between boys and girls team which was won by girls team of Shangri-La was entertaining enough to bring the party atmosphere back. During lucky draw prize distribution, along with the gifts they received the blessings by the golden words of our Vice Chairperson Mrs. Sabharwal, Dean Ma’am Sawhney, Principal Mr. A.K. Tewari. After this program we all went out to a separate hall for the dinner. After dinner, It was the turn of Mr. M.P. Singh (Secretary GNFC School Society) to address the gathering and he came up with a surprise in form of a centonian quiz conducted by him which was based on the 49 years history of GNFC school and the achievements of the students present there and the big prize for the winner was a return air trip for the couple from any part of the world to the GNFC School for the 50th year founder’s day celebration. A special cock house trophy was also given by Mr. M.P. Singh, Mrs. A.K. Sabharwal, Mrs. N.D. Sawhney and Mr. A.K. Tewari to the Ranjit House for having maximum gathering. Program was concluded by the token of love given to guests from the Thai centonians. At the end everybody enjoyed with lots of music, dancing and finally headed back to their rooms with lots of wonderful memories and expectations of meeting again for the upcoming 50th year celebration of our school.
